Hi! Aloha… now it is already week three, but still Miss Syahidah gone for her ‘induksi’. That mean I have not entered the class yet. It’s a lie if I said I don’t happy because of that, but deep in my heart I felt very worried because another class has started their lesson already. Some of them have gone through the short stories and others had done their role – played. I hope that my class can catch up all of it after Miss Syahidah came back.
For not further a due, I took my responsibility with reading the second story which is Mariah. I kept wondering why is it the writers choose such a weird title for their story. Ermmm, maybe they have their own reason for doing that and maybe they just wanted the reader to think what it is this story about.
Back to the track, this story was held in one of a village in Kelantan. Mariah is a nasi seller and she is a widower. All of the people in the village loved with Mariah ‘nasi berlauk’ and it is famous among the men. Actually, Mariah ‘nasi berlauk’ it is not that good, but don’t know why they all loved to eat it. Before I forgot, ‘nasi berlauk’ is Kelantanese breakfast and it just likes our Malaysian ‘nasi lemak’.
From my opinion, I think it is because Mariah herself who cooked and as we all know a widower will always be people attention. This is only my opinion, I didn’t say it is a must, but in this world it always is like this. Hahaha …
Okay, this story had made up a conflict between Pak Imam which well known as a good person had some trouble with his wife, Cik Yam. This is because Pak Imam remembered his first loved who he believed is Mariah. Due to that he wanted to married Mariah no matter what is happened.
Before that Cik Yam has a heart feeling with her husband because Pak Imam refused to eat her ‘nasi berlauk’ and prefer Mariah’s ‘nasi berlauk’. Now, Pak Imam asked her permission to marry Mariah.
If I were Pak Imam’s wife, I have to think twice…no! More than twice in order to let my own husband to marry another woman, in other way is ‘bermadu’. Although, we as a Muslim we believed that we will get ‘payung emas’ in heaven, but we as an ordinary people it is hardly to except it.
So, in this story it shows that we cannot expect what will happen in the future. Normally, what we do not want it to happen, it will happen without any warning. We as a human being have to accept it without any comment. All the things that happen have its own reason…
