Last precious moment...~

Nothing can replace the experience that I got from KASUKMA(Karnival Sukan Kolej MARA) where this year it held at KPM Sri Iskandar. I just went back from Eid ul – Fitr and once again I got home back. This college is just nearby with my hometown. Although I thought that it just a waste for me to travel twice in a week, but for my college and for the sport that I love very much which is netball I am willing to do so. We all are very tired travelled from Pahang to Perak with our college’s bus. The condition of our bus is not that good, but we have too. There is no other choice in order to go there. Once we had already arrived there we had been pleasure with that college’s student early in the morning. After having our lunch we went to the field to do our exercise and ball handling. From 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. we are at the field. It makes we very tired and had burned ourselves too. We just ignored about that because of target this year is to be the winner. After all our team get number three, but we all satisfied with it because we already know our level and we had a very wonderful experience.

Hari Raya Hari Bahagia...~

Hooray… last Eid ul – Fitr is the happiest eid that I ever had. Although one of my brother is not with our family because he is at the oversea, but still I enjoyed the day. My sister and I went back to our hometown one day before the eid. My sister had bought a new ‘baju melayu’ for my father. It is very beautiful and my father likes it very much. While my mother had bought lots of new ‘selendang’ also known as shawl for my sisters. My brother and I had arranged, clean up and put the lamp on in order to ensure our home will look brand new when people visits to our home. Lots of foods that we had provide for our visitors. For example, ketupat, rendang, lemang, laksa johor, spaghetti and cookies too. At night, we enjoyed ourselves playing firecracker with our neighbours. Although we know it is dangerous to do so, but for once we though it is no wrong to play it.

KPMiM iSOLATED...~

Fire burning… fire burning… fire burning… the reasons why I said like this is because my college had been quarantine due to virus influenza H1N1. All of the residents in my college do not allow going anywhere because it is very dangerous to go out there. Lots of victims had been died just because of this virus. Somehow, there few of us do not know how typical this virus is because they just thought that it is same like other diseases that can simply be cure. For about 180 students that had been quarantine where they had been placed at the zero level in order to divide them from others. The symptoms of this virus are get flu, fever, coughing, and headache. For me this is the very first time I involved in this situation. It is very wonderful experience that I ever had because although it makes me sick too. But I thought it is very pleasure to such a community job.

Chill… babe. We meet again… in this section I will story mostly about my interest towards the Internet. I am using it without doubly to search lots of information that I needed. The important thing to be considered is of course to finish up my assignment whereby all the information helps me a lot. Not only to seek what I need, but it is one of the easiest way and save time and money too. Other than that, the Internet had lots of advantages such as to find friend where we can shared our interest, our profession or maybe whatever that we like to know about our cyber friends. Moreover, Internet makes people nowadays one step forward because in this cyber world people can makes money using the Internet. They do not have to go outside their home to buy thing anymore. It will make our people very up – to – date.

Welc0me a board...~

Happy to see all of you again… in the same page, but of course in another section. The reason I am coming back it is because to complete my final year task. This time is for my E – Learning lecturer, Miss Norul Asyikin attention. First time I get in her class I felt a bit different because her is such a happy – go – lucky person and enjoyed to teach all of us. We all enjoyed being in her class although she gave us lots of exercises. What I like the most about this class is I learned this subject using the Internet as well as computer. The most important thing that I love in this world is computer yet the Internet too.

Reflection on class & subject...

This subject makes me really critical on thinking how to do all the assignment. Once a while it makes me feel that wanted to give up because the topic is really hard to understand. But, after all with the help of Madam Yaya make all the homework and assignment easy. Even though the classes and assignments are very packed and cannot been delayed, I still manage to do all the works that had been given. What I am really love about this subject is it is compulsory to post a blog which is my favorite to online. Haha ….. Truly, not all the entries I post it on time. Sorry Madam, but I never forgot to post it although the due date had past. After all, thanks to Madam Yaya for all your attention towards my friends and I.

Reflection on drugs and guns

Based from what I had read, this article tells about the South Africa’s President Thabo Mbeki that he enjoys a position of some eminence, whereas each year spending a noble amount of time on diplomatic visits abroad. Not only that at home he and his government have to contend with two controversies that just won’t go away which are arms and AIDS.
Now Mbeki had faced two difficulties as a president because he had to choose whether to take the weapon or the drugs. For me even war is not always happened in the country, but it is for the own good sake. If the Mbeki choose to put drugs as a legal in his country, I think the impact will become worse rather than impact of war.
As a president, Mbeki has to think more than twice rather to put priority on drugs or guns because for his people drugs are more important than guns. But if Mbeki think further he will choose guns for his country’s future.

Topic 6

In this reading 5.3 we had learned about Types of Exposition: ‘persuading that’ and ‘persuading to’. There are four types of it which are analytical, hortatory, reasoning and also personality exposition. For analytical usually it is a thesis where something we persuade that or to explain why things are as they are. While hortatory is to explain why they should change or in other word to persuade to. We can found this in political speeches and debate. Reasoning in exposition is same like hortatory that are about why, but reasoning in speech and in writing is very different.
I only understand about what Maryam had explained in the class, but for Fandi and Hafiz presentation I am a little bit confusing. Maryam explained about metaphor in ‘nuke speak’ – the language of nuclear weapons or ‘nuke speak’. There are wide variety of metaphors, different levels and many different perspectives. The metaphor is a ‘nuclear weapons are part of nation’s industrial output’, whereby it is clearly crucial to the way in which we talk about and construct our world. Not only has that metaphor drawn on our knowledge of the physical world of concrete objects and spatial relationships in order to structure a great variety of experiential domains.

Topic 5

The article is argued about body language that people had done to attract the muggers. There is evidence that shows why is it muggers tend to do so. It is because there are 26 movements that form basic components. Researchers had done a survey and it already had been proved. I am really agree with this article because we ourselves who is really attract the muggers and not because the muggers who is attract with us.
What can I understand about evidence is evidence sometimes can be trust, but sometimes cannot be trust. It is because people nowadays are very cleaver and there is no such thing that they can create the evidence. Other than that mostly they prefer testimonial evidence rather than circumstantial evidence. For example, eyewitnesses, who testify that they themselves have seen the accused commit the crime. The most famous country that had lots of murderer is Chicago.
Statistic can be defined as the art and science of statistic. Researchers always sticked with statistic although it always been misused. There are lots of common statistical slips and it has to show the statistic clearly in order to show the result. For example, unqualified averages, fallacious sampling, percentages unaccompanied by actual numbers and also misleading presentation.
Crooked and fallacious thinking had lots of subtopic. The first one is transfer device which is to attract people by using ambassador. While circular argument is the first impression or stereotype. For false analogy is to evaluate something or somebody based on their expectation, whereas either – or assumption is the thinking there is no middle ground between two entrance. Equivocation is a complicated thinking which can leads to misunderstanding. For crooked thinker it can switch the words to make it difficult to understand whereby as we all know that fallacious means false.

Topic 4

The article describes about six – year – old Scarlett Finney as if she was able to go to the school she would love to do so. Her parents had bought this case for the judgment, but still they do not have enough evidence to sue the school. Here, the writer had quote what Scarlett had said about the school which is the school once had wrote in a book that they do take children with disabilities. Scarlett’s parents kept wondering why is it the school just cannot take the disabilities student even though they had lots of specialties and also facilities for all of them.
The second article is about youth suicide that had been increased nowadays. There are survey that had been conducted by Bheard. In this article stated that lots of reason why is it youngster tend to do bad things especially kept suicide. They thought that if they took action all the problems that occur will gone just like them that already committed suicide. Why it is all things happens maybe because they do not have people to talk with or to tell what exactly their problems are. Lots of things to do in order to prevent this issue from become worse.
On this reading article it tells about five elements that included in the linguistic tools which are genre, field, mode, ideology, and tenor. Each of it has its own characteristic. For text A it combined about information where the ideology is in it, mostly about discussion, advantages and disadvantages. While in the text B is about report that usually straight forward. The writer tries to proplematise the texts, dig out about ideology positioning, provide basis of informed debate, analysis and critique, providing analytical tools, enabling people and react as ‘text analysis’, and illustrate some explicit knowledge about language.

Topic 3

The writer supports the stance taken by Dr Cross that this issue is very serious if there are no actions taken. There are lots of disadvantages when children had been bullied. For example, traumatic and not only that the victim can get symptoms such as panic, anxiety and headaches. The victim felt afraid to tell about what really had happened because they can feel what will be if they tell the truth. To avoid from this thing happen is not that easy because people out there tend to do bad things although they know that there is no benefits at all whereby is just for fun.

Topic 2

Hye, there... here we meet again. Now in the second entry where I have faced another week and of course another topic. For this week it is my group's turned for presentation whereby my friends and I had already choose Reading 2.2. We had discussed about this topic before we proceed with our presentation. Although we do not really understand about this topic, but we tried our best so that all our friends can understand well about it. When the presentation was held I saw that Madam Yaya cannot accept with our presentation, but after all the example and explaination she manage to understand with it.

Second presentation has been presented by Nisa and Nyssa which is Reading 2.3. I am very satisfied with their performance because they manage to explain all about the subtopic in the Reading 2.3. With a good visual aid that they used makes not only me can understand it, but same goes to others. Although I manage to understand with their explanation, but still some of my friends said that both of their explanation cannot be understood because the language that they used is hard to understand. Overall, we still can understand with the presentation and felt very satisfied.

Topic 1

Assalamualaikum and welcome to my new blog entry for this 2009 year. As usual I am doing this for Madam Yaya’s attention. New lecturer, new subject (COM 4623 Critical Literacy) and of course new topic. I still have to create blogs in this semester 4 whereby I really hope that I will not face any difficulties in posting the blog. First thing first, before I proceed with other interesting topic, I want to tell a little bit about the new subject, Critical Literacy (a.k.a CL). Most of my seniors said that this is one of the killer subjects in semester 4 other than Society, State & Individual (SSI), and Research & Project (R&P). So, let’s take a look about this subject. It is about reading and writing where we have to ‘critical’ understood the purposes of the text. We cannot just simply justify about certain thing that we had read. Not that easy to do so because we must have the skills to identify about the texts.
After all, my class already moved to reading 1.3. In reading 1.2 it is about Stories & Facts which is it related with the article Convicted killer back at work. Lots of thing that I do not know on how to relate the text with the 10 elements. Before this I had read Chapter 1 a little bit, but still could not understand. Then, only I knew about it because with good explanation by the presenter which consist of Adini’s group members. This group had make the whole class understand and clear about Chapter 1. With a good example they make it more clear and understand well.
The explanation about Rules and Regulations for reading 1.3 had been made byn Nabila’s group. Here, not only I myself could not understand about the reading, but it is the same for Nabila’s group members. They afraid that their explanations are wrong, but they had tried their best because of Madam Yaya’s support. Although they do not include all the subtopics in the reading, but they had already combined it with one good explanation. Madam Yaya had a few questioned for them that related to the article in Chapter 1. I thought for this chapter I get all the explanation and for Chapter 2, reading 2.2 my group and I will present about it. Hope that my group can make it.
